    Questions Answered, Round 1

Sally was curious enough to send questions.  Anyone else is also welcome to send them also.  I am not sure how much of what people are interested in.  The only rule is I can not tell  you about the details of what I am working on or any other Apple project.  You think government is bad for top secret you should try Apple.  Although I guess at least I do not have to worry about jail time.  But I just got this job and want to keep it.  So round one of questions:

Are you actually living in San Jose?

Right now I am actually living in Cupertino.  Which is a suburb of San Jose.  Which is a suburb of San Francisco.  I am not sure where I will settle down, I am wanting something affordable, nice and big.  At least bigger than what I had in NYC, which is not really hard.

How long do you get to stay in your temporary apartment?

I will be in the temporary housing until 1 Feb.  At least that is the current plan.  If I find something that is an extremely good deal I might move sooner, but I have the temp housing for a month, I might as well take advantage of it.  The money I am saving will go to deposits, new furniture and some towards credit cards.  Even with Apple paying for the move, there are a lot of little things that I needed to get.  Such as work clothes.  This is the first job where I do not have a uniform to wear, or shirts largely provided.

Do you know any of the people at Apple there from prior meetings or dealings?

There are actually a good number of people I know already.  Some from previous stores, and some from talking via email, ichat, or phone.  There are some I still need to catch up with, but it has only been my first week.  This move has been a lot better in that regards than when I went to NYC where I did not know anyone.

Have you found proper sushi and Mexican restaurants?

I have found an ok sushi place by work, and I have a lead for a good mexican place.  I do not yet have the place that I will call my regular, but that will largely depend on where I live.  I like the regular place to be close so I can go at the drop of a hat.  On the flip side I finally have a BBQ again!  pretty much every night this last week I was out there grilling something.  It is a small gass grill, but then I am not patient enough to wait for charcoal for one person.  I want to get a good charcoal grill for having guests over, but that will wait for now.
